Hi there! Great to meet you!
Communicating and interacting with people has always been in my blood.
From performing on stage at an early age, through to studying communications at university, teaching English to adult ESL learners, and training and supporting young adults in the secondary and vocational education sector, I've always had a passion and keen desire to engage, change and transform people's lives through effective communication.
Of course, it hasn't always been plain sailing. I've probably personally broken every rule in the communications book! I've said things I shouldn't have, I've been over-reactive and emotional at times, I've kept quiet when I should have spoken up, and I've misunderstood and been misunderstood countless times.
Despite all of this - or maybe as a result of it - I have gained a lot of insight, learning and wisdom into the subject of workplace communications. I'd now like to share with you what I have learnt as a result of these challenges and successes, and ultimately give you strategies and techniques to communicate more effectively at work.
We now work in an ever increasingly complex and challenging world. More than ever, we, as employees, team leaders, managers, business-owners and organisations, need effective communication skills to navigate and thrive in this post-COVID world.
I strongly believe that communication skills lie at the very heart of employee, business and organisational development and growth. As we move through the post-COVID world and into the next exciting decade, communication skills have never been more critical to both our professional and personal development, and to organisational and business performance and productivity.
High level skills in communications are and will continue to be the sought after skills of the 21st century and beyond. There is currently a large vocational training gap and need in this area and I am convinced that Work Ready NQ can fill this gap with our on-line courses and small group training workshops.
I hope my training courses will help you resolve the workplace communication issues you may have. My courses will enable you to recognise different communication styles including your own, implement strategies that allow you to become a more confident and assertive communicator, discover and emulate the traits and characteristics of great communicators, and identify and manage/reduce the barriers to communication.
